RawReligion.com seeks to explore topics surrounding nontraditional expressions of Christianity, commonly referred to as “organic church” or “simple church.” We produce content that looks at the implications of life outside the four walls of the institutional church. Occasionally, we publish a book review or website introduction in order to provide our readers with a broad perspective of this revolution. The transitional shift, which we term an “ecclesiastical revolution,” is far-reaching and has the momentum to change the expression of Christianity in a single generation.
Though this is termed a “new” revolution, it draws on the principles and concepts of the early church. We prefer to call this a “returning” instead of a “revolution.” It is not about building a new structure or marketing edge. It is about returning to the natural, simple, and organic expression of the Body of Christ. The book of Acts and Paul’s epistles display timeless principles about the spiritual DNA of the ekklesia (or “Church”).
RawReligion.com welcomes all visitors, from the skeptical investigator to the deeply intrigued. The skeptic will appreciate our attention to biblical detail and historical attention. Readers with a desire to get involved in this “returning” will appreciate the real-life narratives and honest testimonies about life “outside the four walls of the church.”
We welcome discussion and questions. The articles and blog postings have comment sections at the bottom for those interested in dialoguing with one another. RawReligion.com seeks to promote honest, intelligent, and respectful conversation. Obviously, there will always be opportunities for offense when dealing with subjects surrounding the expression of the heart. When these situations arise, it is the mission of each believer to ensure that he/she is promoting unity and love for one another, even when two opinions seem to be diametrically opposed.
RawReligion.com doesn’t exist to produce content alone. Endless verbal assualts and scholastical “black holes” profit nothing. King Solomon once wrote, “But, my child, let me give you some further advice: Be careful, for writing books is endless, and much study wears you out” (Ecc. 12:12).
At RawReligion.com you don’t just get information. You get helpful tips and opportunities to relate to real individuals who are grappling with the same questions. For this reason, we place a high emphasis on testimonies and stories. We desire to network you with others who have been down the same road and, perhaps, can provide some encouragement and insight along your own journey.
We don’t just write about meaningless topics — we keep you informed and involved. Relevance is key.
“Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other…” – 1 Peter 4:8
RawReligion.com is not a site that was birthed out of bitterness or offense. It does not exist as a cyber-assault against those who belong to the institutional church.
Contrary to the fractured and segregated image of Christendom today, we promote unity found under the headship (i.e. authority, leadership) of Jesus Christ. He has one Bride, one Church, and she is comprised of every person who calls on the name of Bridegroom.
RawReligion.com is not a site that seeks to please everyone. At times, statements will be made that could be received the wrong way. That is a risk one must take when sharing opinions–someone will eventually disagree. However, the spirit and intent of this site is to build up and ultimately discover the eternal purpose that God has in Christ.
